NorthStar Staffing Moves to Texas Telecom Corridor
For Immediate Release. October 6, 2000, Birmingham, Alabama: NorthStar Communications Group, Inc. (NorthStar) and ViaTech Services, Inc. announced today the relocation of their joint venture, NorthStar Staffing Solutions, to the Texas Telecom Corridor. The move represents an expansion and centralization of key resources.
Seventeen staff members, including Director Jan Weiss, Recruiting Manager Steven Judd, and National Direct Placement Coordinator Marcus Fletcher, were drawn from various offices to open the expansive 14,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in the Jupiter Tech Center in Plano, Texas. Dubbed the "Texas Telecom Corridor," the Plano / Richardson area has become a nexus for telecommunications giants such as Ericsson, Fugitsu, MCI, Nortel, and Verizon. The location is considered ideal for NorthStar Staffing Solutions, which provides personnel to the telecommunications industry nationwide, on both long- and short-term contract assignment.
"I am confident in the abilities of the team we have assembled," observed Weiss, "And it’s like going home for me. Before joining NorthStar, I lived and worked in Richardson for 14 years, and established strong relationships within the industry."
Collocated in the new facility are the offices of Bruce Fergusson, from NorthStar Network Solutions (formerly NorthStar Datacom Solutions), Don Kelly, from NorthStar Sales, and Allstates Technical Staffing Service (a division of Viatech).
